The ABCs of Potty Training!!! A MUST READ for all Parents.
Most parents eagerly anticipate toilet training as a milestone
in their child's development, if for no other reason than that it means an end
to changing diapers. But few moms and dads are prepared for how long toilet
training can take.
Sure, some children master it within a few days, but others can
take several months. In general, the younger your child is when you start to
toilet-train, the longer it takes.
You and your child have a better chance of success if you
understand the elements of training and approach the process in a clear
fashion. Here are the basic steps:

Keep your Child Safe while they PLAY!
Your child is not a baby anymore; he wants to test his new
strength and budding independence and run, climb, and jump. The playground is
the perfect place to take him, but beware of hidden hazards that can cause
painful and sometimes permanent injuries, whether the site is on school
property, on church grounds, or in a park, hotel, resort, or childcare center.
Slides might be crooked, swings broken, surfacing too hard, and climbing
equipment too high. In fact, hospitals treat 100,000 Nigerian children every
year for playground-related injuries. Of those injuries, three-quarters are blamed
on faulty playground equipment, and more than half are caused by falls onto
unforgiving surfaces.

Weaning
What does it mean to have weaned a
child?
When your baby stops nursing and gets all his nutrition from sources other than
the breast, he's considered weaned. Although babies are also weaned from the
bottle, the term most often refers to when a baby stops breastfeeding.
Weaning is a long goodbye — bittersweet and
freeing at the same time. But weaning doesn't need to end the intimate bond you
and your child created through nursing. It just means you're nourishing and
nurturing in different ways.
If you often nursed your child for comfort,
find other ways to make him feel better. Read a book, sing a song together, or
play outside instead. If your child protests, be calm and firm and, if you need
to, hand him to your partner for a cuddle.

How to Have a Boy in your Next Pregnancy (*Winks*)
Wondering how to get pregnant and conceive a boy? From the simple to the serious and everything in between, here's a guide to improving your chances of conceiving a boy.
Question To Ask your Self When Buying a Diaper Bag!
You may not get
to choose your baby’s sex, control how many hours you spend in the delivery
room or have a say in the bizarre cravings your body cooks up while pregnant.
However, the world is your veritable oyster when it comes to many other
baby-related things, such as nursery decor and infant necessities.
That, of
course, includes diaper bags. Before you run out and buy one, though, it’s
important to first determine your needs. Thousands of diaper bags are available
for purchase, but keep in mind that not all are created equal. Additionally,
what you’re looking for in a diaper bag may vary from other moms and dads. If
you’re shopping around for the perfect diaper bag, ask yourself these questions
before buying:
What To pack in your Hospital Bag When Going into Labor
I remember being about 32 weeks pregnant and all the
conversation at work switched from, "How you feeling?" to "Are
you packed yet?".
However, if you're having a hospital
birth, there are a few things to make your stay a little more
pleasant. Here's the list I came up with, but feel free to let me know
what you took, or are taking.
For You:
Pillow: Hospital pillows are
about the thickness of a communion wafer – maybe it's so you can't smother
someone with them to get your inheritance early, dunno – so it's always nice to
have a pillow from home. Not only is more comfortable, but your pillow kind of
smells like your bed and that's always comforting. Use a non-white pillow case
so it's not confused with a hospital pillow that someone could walk off with
when you're in the "loo trying to poo".

Fathers Also Bond With Their Kids and Reason Why They are The Best @ BABYSITTING!!!! *Winks*
Many women’s claws come out and they
assume their ass-kickin’ Matrix stance when they hear some gal say her husband
is babysitting.
BABYSITTING?!!!!
This
man is a father – his children’s legal guardian for
flip’s sake. He. Is. Not. Babysitting.
True dat. But a lot of the
time, it feels like he might as well be.
Here’s why:
1. It’s a business arrangement. You might not
have to stick some Jacksons in his waistband, but you’ll pay. Whether
it’s a night out with the guys, keeping your yap shut when he ignores the dirty
dishes (again!) or some major baum-chicka-wow-wow time, you owe him for his
services.
Please Monitor and Keep your children Safe this Holiday Period.
According to a story by Punch, five-year-old girl, Oluwaseun Ogungbemile, (pictured above) was abducted at the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, on Friday August 9th.

It was learnt that the girl, in company with her parents, had gone to the camp at Kilometre 46 on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State, to attend the one-week annual convention of the church that ended on Sunday. 10 MUST-KNOW FACTS ABOUT TODDLERS
Rejoice parents! You now have toddlers, those bundles of budding humanity. Constant whining has replaced that urgent baby cry. They mostly sleep through the night these days, but when they don’t it’s no longer because they need a good burping or a diaper change. Toddlers have needs and desires that, even when addressed directly and precisely to the letter of their demands, are all wrong you dumb cow.
1. If your baby is a thumb-sucker (read: self-soother) you’ll rejoice until you one day realize that you can take away the pacifier but the kid carries that thumb everywhere.
2. If your baby is a pacifier baby, you will wait too long to take it away and convincing Susie that the baby ducklings at the pond need all her pacis will elicit the same reaction from her that beating ponies with puppies would.
3. Handing a toddler a broken cookie is like handing her a tantrum grenade.
7 Common Mistakes First-Time Parents Make
Parenting is one of the hardest jobs you will ever have, and no stage is more difficult than the first few months with your first child. It is easy to be led astray by misguided assumptions and poorly thought-out plans, and it is practically impossible to completely avoid making any mistakes. Parenting is after all a learning process, but you can avoid some of the most common mistakes simply by being aware of them in advance. Here are seven of the most common issues that arise for first-time parents.
1. Not Sleeping
Everyone knows that new parents are commonly sleep deprived, but it does not have to be so bad. Especially if you and your spouse can find ways to share the load and balance your time, then you should be able to get close to your usual amount of sleep every day. Granted, the sleep may be patchy and at unconventional times, but you can get it if you try.
Pregnancy Myths Part 1
There are numerous myths surrounding pregnancy. Here are some of the most popular and most common pregnancy myths around.
Myth 1: A woman can’t get pregnant if penetration only happens for a few seconds.
Anytime you have intercourse there is a potential risk of pregnancy. Of course, there’s a greater chance of getting pregnant if penetration is occurring at the same time as ejaculation, however there is still a risk of pregnancy even prior to ejaculation and you should always be concerned with transmission of STD’s.
