GREENFIELD, IN -- A couple from Indiana is celebrating what many are calling a one-in-a-million pregnancy.
Matt and Ashley Alexander went to their doctor for a regular check-up, but what they found was a huge surprise for everyone!
The ultrasound technician told the couple that they are expecting 3 little girls – identical triplets. And get this – they were conceived naturally.
"She was checking Ashley and right away there were twins, and she goes, 'Let me check for a third,'" Matt said. "And I'm like, she's just joking. I said, 'You're joking,' and she said, 'No, we don't joke about this stuff.' So about came off the table,” Matt said about the doctor's visit.
Ashley, clearly excited by the news said, "I'm painting their nails.One's going to be pink, one purple, and the other probably pale blue."
And their friends are over the moon as well. Family friend Kristina Price had this to say about the new additions, "I'm super excited. I'm ready for them to be here, ready to help her out. I've been going to her house to help with her son while she's getting stuff prepared."
And they may not have long to wait, doctors say that Ashley can safely deliver as soon as she hits 28 weeks which is only a week away!
"It's just an awesome blessing for God to entrust us with three more little blessings all at once," Matt said.
The proud parents have already picked out names for their daughters – Sophia Mae, Alexis Kae, and Ella Shae.
